I had a great time and saw lots of friends at the Franklin County 4-H Fair & Auction last night!

Yesterday was another hot day! I enjoyed talking with some really great folks in Sesser. Oh and check out how much water we’re drinking when we go out and walk.

It’s been a hot and muggy couple of days! But I always have a great time chatting with folks in the 117th District. Here are some selfies I snapped in Williamson County. Great people!

These wonderful folks are making a real difference in our area. Hunger is a largely unseen epidemic in our region. I’m honored and humbled to be able to play a small part in the big work these local churches and organizations are doing. Sometimes the only time a child is able to eat is at school. During the summer these eight programs help to supplement that need by offering free lunches and meals throughout the district.

Today we’re honoring Old Glory. This day commemorates the adoption of the United States flag 239 years ago! Are you flying a flag today?

Another day of meeting the wonderful constituents of the 46th District. It was such a pleasure getting to know Susan and her dog Eli!

Every time I come by the Yoeu family in Glendale Heights, I am so impressed with their beautiful garden!

I am pleased to announce that I have been endorsed by the Illinois Federation of Teachers. As a mother of four, nothing is more important to me than improving our local schools. My sons attended local public schools and I have volunteered my time as a member of the PTA and school board. I am honored to have the support of educators and I will continue to fight to improve our schools.

Today I got to meet Gomer and his owner Anna as I went door to door. What a cutie!

The parade steps off at noon and is a great time for the whole family! We will have t-shirts and signs; if you can, please try to let me know in advance if you’ll be able to make it so we can plan accordingly.

I was proud to sponsor the bill creating this Civics Education Task Force. Educating future generations about the world around us and encouraging civic engagement should be a priority.

Thank you to the friends, supporters, and thousands of people I have met over the last few years. Yesterday was our victory, and I could not have done it without you. Time to get back to work in Springfield – our work has only just begun!
