UNDATED – LaSalle County Democrats hosted a meeting with State Representative Lance Yednock to discuss recent criminal justice reform legislation on Wednesday. The controversial House Bill 3653 was the topic of discussion for the LaSalle County Democrats forum, leading a series of informal conversations centered on politics. Yednock, who voted against the bill, says a few major components were modified before the final vote.
The bill does include the abolishment of monetary bail, mandation of bodily cameras, and no requirement of an affidavit in complaining against a police officer. Yednock says he is still struggling to understand the entirety of the over 760-page bill, but remains hopeful.
