ROUND LAKE BEACH – With a shortage of personal protective equipment putting medical providers at risk, state Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, is encouraging residents to donate any surplus masks, gowns, gloves, eye protectors, hand sanitizer and disinfectant.

“To best fight against this virus, we must all do our part to support those on the frontlines,” Yingling said in a news release. “Our nurses, doctors and other medical professionals desperately need protective equipment to do their jobs as safely and effectively as possible, which is why it is so important that anyone who has any extra of these items donate them as soon as possible.”

Those with equipment still in the manufacturer’s original packaging should contact ppe.donations@illinois.gov. Those with opened or homemade equipment should contact their local first responders.
