The Gov has the authority to issue bonds, and is preparing to issue $550 million in new debt. We need a responsible, balanced budget not continuing to run up bills.
Illinois has never missed abond payment, but the state for the first time is addressingthat doomsday scenario in a documentfiled ahead of a scheduled $550 million bond sale this week.
